About TOP Jewish Foundation

The Tampa Orlando Pinellas Jewish Foundation, or just “TOP,” was established in 1980 to support the Jewish and non-Jewish communities through creative philanthropy. In 2012, we adopted a strict and forward-thinking anti-terror investment policy to ensure that none of our community’s resources are used to support companies that have terrorist ties. To date, we are the only foundation of which we are aware that applies this level of scrutiny to our investing.

TOP in a nutshell…

If you’re like many in our region, you’ve heard of TOP Jewish Foundation but never really understood what the organization does. We are a foundation that pools the resources of our three communities. Fees collected from the funds support the Tampa Jewish Federation, the Jewish Federation of Pinellas and Pasco Counties, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando.

Individuals and families can create endowments for their favorite charities or donor-advised funds to support a variety of causes. TOP handles all aspects of distributing funds to the organizations that interest the person setting up the fund. Nonprofits can keep assets at TOP, receiving white-glove money management and advisory services typically restricted to investors with much larger balances.

Is TOP for you?

If you’re already giving an annual gift to a favorite charity, or if your collective giving each year is $5,000 or greater, TOP can help you streamline your giving and potentially make your gift go farther. You’ll find that working with TOP is like sustaining your own structured private or public foundation with significantly less cost and significantly more convenience.

TOP accepts many types of gifts, and currently manages donor-advised  and endowment funds, funds for non-profit organizations, and other funds which benefit various entities around the community. TOP is a 509(1)1 and 501(c)3 organization.
